Saira Aquil
Saira Aquil is an assistant professor in the Department of Defence & Strategic Studies at Quaid-i-Azam University. She is the author of ‘Destined to Fail: Democracy and State Building Experiment in Post-Taliban Afghanistan,’ published by Oxford University Press, Karachi. With two decades of experience in teaching and research at Quaid-i-Azam University, Dr Aqil’s research focuses on civil-military relations, state and nation building in conflict-affected societies, narratives and conflict resolution, international security, and regional stability, with a specific emphasis on China, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. She has published her research work in both national and international journals and has been involved in curriculum development for BS, MPhil, and PhD programs within her department. Dr Aqil also had the privilege of presenting her study on ‘Exploring the Linkage between Civil-Military Relations and Economic Developments in Conflict Zones: Darra Adamkhel on the Front Line’ at the WISC Fourth Global International Studies Conference held at Goethe University, Frankfurt, Germany.
