Farrukh Jamal, the maternal grandson of the renowned poet Josh Malihabadi, has dedicated his life to preserving and promoting the literary legacy of his illustrious ancestor. Born with a deep appreciation for poetry and a passion for his grandfather’s work, Farrukh Jamal has become a distinguished figure in the world of literature. He has authored two remarkable books on Josh Malihabadi. The first, titled ‘Josh…Mere Baba, Shakhs Aur Shayir,’ delves into the life, personality, and poetic genius of Josh from a personal perspective. It offers readers an intimate glimpse into the man behind the legendary poet. His second book, ‘Josh Malihabadi, Malihabad Se Islamabad Tak, Rudad e Safar, Mulazamtein Aur Qiyam Gahein,’ takes readers on a journey from Malihabad to Islamabad, tracing the path of Josh’s life and the various phases of his literary career. It explores the locations, experiences, and significant moments that shaped the poet’s extraordinary life. Farrukh Jamal’s commitment to preserving his grandfather’s legacy doesn’t stop there. He is currently working on his third book, titled ‘Khandan e Josh Aur Mazi K Dhundalake,’ which promises to be another valuable addition to the literature on Josh Malihabadi. This upcoming work is expected to shed light on the family heritage of Josh and provide insights into his historical context. In addition to his literary pursuits, Farrukh Jamal serves as the President of the Josh Adabi Foundation. His dedication to this foundation reflects his desire to ensure that the legacy of Josh Malihabadi continues to inspire and enlighten generations to come. Furthermore, due to Farrukh Jamal’s tireless efforts, the Government of Pakistan awarded the Hilal-i-Imtiaz to Josh Malihabadi, acknowledging his immense contributions to literature. Additionally, a road in Sector D-12 East, Islamabad, was named after the great poet, Josh Malihabadi, further honouring his legacy.
