Abbas Nasir

Abbas Nasir is a professional journalist who has held senior editorial positions both in Pakistan and the UK. He is a former editor of Dawn and prior to that, he was the head of the BBC Urdu Service in London, and Executive Editor of the BBC World Service Asia Pacific Region. In Pakistan, he has reported for The Muslim, The Herald and Newsline to name but a few news publications. Notably, when The News was established in 1990, he served as its chief political correspondent, where he played a pivotal role in training and guiding numerous young journalists who would later go on to excel in the field. Abbas Nasir is a regular columnist for Dawn.
