Aamir Ghauri
Aamir Ghauri is currently the Resident Editor of The News International in Islamabad since December 2017. He founded the South Asia Future Forum (SAFF) in London in 2016, engaging government representatives, international experts, and regional specialists on South Asia’s political, economic, social, and cultural issues. Previously, Ghauri worked as Political Editor and Program Host for ARY News from 2011 to 2016, covering stories in the UK, the US, major European capitals, and the Middle East. He launched and edited ‘The Asian Journal,’ an English-language free weekly newspaper in London in 2009, focusing on South Asian ethnic communities in the UK. In 2008, he joined Dunya TV as Director of News & Current Affairs and played a significant role in building its broadcast team. Ghauri led Geo TV’s European news operations and presented ‘Viewpoint’ from London for European and North American audiences. He has a wealth of experience working with Pakistani and international news media, including the BBC and Prime TV. In 2001, Ghauri joined ARY Digital as the Head of News and Current Affairs, and in 1990, he was part of the founding team that launched Pakistan’s first multi-edition English-language newspaper, The News International. He reported on court cases of prominent Pakistani politicians and covered international elections, conflicts, and societies on three continents. Aamir Ghauri holds an MSc in International Politics from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) at the University of London, with a focus on South Asian and Middle Eastern politics. He has practised law in Pakistan and is a respected political commentator who has appeared on major international news networks and contributed to various publications. He has spoken at prestigious educational institutions and media think tanks worldwide and authored ‘The Divine Destruction,’ a pictorial commentary on the 2005 South Asian earthquake.
